Steady Growth and Requests for this week
As the 2nd semester is underway, we are reminded of our primary mission here in Mongolia - to develop a self-sustaining, self-led Christian student movement. It is easy to be disappointed when a few of last semester’s new believers have not returned to FCS. It is easy to want to see another explosion in numbers, to see FCS grow another 200%. But our primary prayer these days is to see steady growth, esp. to see STUDENTS TAKING INITIATIVE in (a) their own spiritual growth and (b) reaching out to other students.
On Feb. 6-7, we gathered our BBS (Basic Bible Study) students for “BBS SCHOOL.” During these 2 days, our Mongolian staff taught about spiritual growth and how to share the gospel with other students. We modeled a “Quiet Time” by doing it together, and we also introduced some students to local churches for the first time.
On Feb. 11, we kicked off the new semester by hosting a special outreach meeting entitled, “What is Real Love?” Over 25 new students came, more than doubling our regular FCS students! Nancy preached, and many students heard the gospel for the first time. The following weekend, we followed up the meeting with a Movie Night and Sledding Activity. TOMORROW, MARCH 1, we will continue our new semester outreach with by hosting a Friendship Caf
