A Time for Praise

Happy Easter! We enjoyed a wonderful week leading up to Easter, as we held special joint “Revive Mongolia” meetings with Campus Crusade for 4 evenings (Monday-Thursday). For the FIRST TIME, our FCS students and CCC worshipped together, giving students a vision for Mongolia and their universities. Also, Tom and our Hong Kong partner, Mesona, led our staff team in devotionals each morning according to the events of Passion Week.

A week earlier, Tom also preached at a FCS2 large group meeting where 2 students received Jesus, adding to the 4 other conversions last month! Indeed, there is much to praise God for in recent weeks:

*…For the FCS2 MID-SEMESTER RETREAT (4/2-3). Over 20 students participated in our first all-fellowship retreat, held in our student center. Most students were either new believers or non-believers and new to FCS, so our 2 goals were: (1) Introducing students to Jesus, and (2) Introducing students to each other. Thus, much time was spent sharing in small groups and hearing lectures about Jesus, taught by Tom, Chuka and Nyamaa.

*…For the FCS1 “OPEN” LARGE GROUP MTG (3/25). Students were encouraged to invite their friends, and about 120 NEW students showed up! Of those 120, almost half signed up for investigative Bible studies.

*…For the IFES STAFF TRAINING - MALAYSIA (3/8-14). We were invited to do some teaching at the triennial IFES “Junior” Staff Training Conference in Malaysia. More importantly, we had the privilege of taking 2 Mongolian staff, Chuka and Marta, along with us. It was Marta’s first time ever on an airplane! Junior staff from over 10 different countries in our Asian region (Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Hong Kong, etc.) gathered to share about their ministries, collaborate on best practices, and receive training. Our goal was to give our Mongolian staff a vision for a more developed student movement, as well as develop their skills. We praise God for the
opportunity not only to lead our Mongolian staff, but also to influence so
many new, young IFES staff in our region.

*…For the FCS2 FRIENDSHIP CAF
