Thanks for praying for my Regional Staff Conference (RSC) and Prospective Staff Weekend (PSW) two weekends ago. At RSC, I praise God for the many ways our missionary God worked among our 30 staff. Our staff came together vulnerably and with great hope for the future. All conference goals were fulfilled, and even though I fell ill during the conference, the Lord sustained me enough to teach and speak. One of my exciting presentations was publicly announcing plans to expand deeper into Kansas. You can view my PowerPoint online and pray accordingly!

Bum, one of my Area Directors, was esp. impacted by both the Mark Bible Studies as well as our guest and author Scott Bessenecker, head of InterVarsity’s Global Projects. Scott challenged us to become not only excellent leaders but also excellent followers of Christ. “I’ve been convicted of my need to become a better follower of Christ rather than a better leader of people. I’ve spent the bulk of my last seven years on becoming a better leader at the cost of developing as a follower…” reflected Bum.

At PSW, about 30 people came from inside and outside the region to learn more about opportunities with InterVarsity. But more importantly, we wanted to serve these folks in discerning God’s will for their lives. Several participants had attended other “recruitment” type weekends in other parachurch ministries, and they all commented on how much they enjoyed the “atmosphere” and InterVarsity’s value in truly serving them rather than simply giving information or focusing on persuading them.

Please do pray for our follow-up, as conversations continue and we do all we can to help juniors and seniors toward following wherever Jesus is leading them.
