IFES Training Conference Malaysia

In mid-March, we had the privilege of taking 2 Mongolian staff, Chuka and Marta, to Malaysia for an IFES Junior Staff Training Conference. It was Marta’s first time ever on an airplane and first time outside of Mongolia. Junior staff from 10 different countries in our East Asia region (Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Hong Kong, etc.) gathered to share about their ministries, collaborate on best practices, and receive training. Our goal was to give our Mongolian staff a vision for a more developed student movement, as well as develop skills as a staffworker.

During the conference, we led a small group together, while Tom had the opportunity to do some teaching/training. Although we’re not experts, Tom also led a discussion on “Staff life as a married couple.” We were grateful for the opportunity to not only lead our Mongolian staff, but also to influence so many new, young IFES staff in our region.
