On May 15, a group of students and us visited the largest public orphanage in Mongolia. We spent time playing with the orphans, brought cake and drinks, and shared a movie with them entitled "You are Special." (Since it's a government run orphanage, we were not allowed to share about our faith.)
The visit left quite an impression on all of us, as we learned that the orphans are almost never allowed to go outside, because they would run away! That means they spend 24 hours a day indoors, within the confines of the building. Our FCS students left feeling compassion for these children, and hope to return again soon to show them that they are not forgotten by Mongolian society.
