2005.10 Global Leaders Formacion and Beijing Family Trip
In Hong Kong, Tom recently met with over 50 other leaders from IFES movements all over the world for an “Emerging Leaders Formacion” (Tom is still considered “young” apparently.) It was a time where leaders gathered to share ideas, reflect on our own leadership journey, and learn from very senior leaders through informal interaction. For example, the General Secretary of our global association (IFES) and the executive leaders of each of the regions (usually divided by continent) hung out with us young folks… The Formacion was full of interesting relationships. For example, Tom roomed with one of the national leaders in Bangladesh and the director of ministry in the Carribean.
Meanwhile, Nancy met her parents and sister in Beijing, where they spent 5 days seeing the Great Wall and other popular sites. It was their first time in Beijing, so Nancy enjoyed playing tourist guide. Abby also enjoyed being carried around in her new backpack carrier!
