Terelj National Park – Mongolian Horses!

On July 13th, we joined the IVCF short-term team and the Park's on a visit to a famous National Park located about 2 hours drive from Ulaanbaatar. The highlight was riding the famous Mongolian horses through the open countryside, through rivers, past ger homes, etc. Nancy even had time for a camel ride! The last half of our ride was interrupted with pouring rain, which forced us to stop in a random ger for shelter. The residents kindly let all 10 of us pile into their small one-room ger! (Tom was even offered a "snuff" bottle, but that's another story…) Not only was this trip a fun time of fellowship, but it offered us a glimpse of life in the countryside and the Mongolian culture.
