In just one week, I will have the privilege of participating in a historic event — the 3rd Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization in Cape Town. Not only am I looking forward to the 4,000+ church leaders from around the world, but also the intersection of many of the worlds that I live in as a missions director. Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL will be present, as the bible translation movement has much in common with the Lausanne movement — click on this recent Wycliffe blog entry, which describes this link well. InterVarsity and IFES will be well-represented, as Urbana personnel are contributing heavily to the operations side of things, while several IFES leaders will be on the platform and IFES alumni from around the world make up a significant part of the invited guests list.
